We got up this morning, ate pumpkin pie for breakfast, and headed out to our next stop, Santa Cruz. Santa Cruz is on the Monterrey Peninsula where we will be visiting Big Sur and Carmel. When we got to the campsite, I left the kids in charge of setting up the Pearl so I could continue on another 2 hours to San Francisco to pick up David.
Folks, if you ever need to park in the San Fran airport, DO NOT park in the lot outside...under a tree. I was there only about 1/2 hour and came back to find my minivan encased in a layer of bird poop.
Dave arrived unscathed - Yeah!!!!! When we arrived back at the campsite, the kids had set up the camper for sleeping, and had a nice fire going. It was very cozy. If you are wondering how we are all sleeping in the Pearl - we aren't. I purchased a "one minute set-up" tent, a couple of sleeping bags and two air mattresses for Christian and Joshua to sleep outside and "bond". That is working well.
